Polyacrylamide, is a kind of water soluble polymer, has unique effect to increase the viscosity of water to promote the flocculation of particles present in water, it can also reduce the frictional resistance between the liquid.
According to the different ion characteristics, PAM has three types: Anionic PAM, Cationic PAM and Nonionic PAM.
Mechanism of how PAM works
The amide group (-CONH2) of Polyacrylamide can be compatible with many substances, the formation of hydrogen bond can absorb suspension particles to form "bridging" thus to make flocculation structure enlarge and thicken, to accelerate the particles sedimentation to speed up the clarification of the solution and promote filtration.
1. Anionic Polyacrylamide
Property and application:
The Anionic Polyacrylamide, according to different uses and requests of customers, adopts two kinds of manufacturing technology: hydrolysis after homo polymerization and co-polymerization.
It has a high purity and a fast dissolving speed.
It is mainly used to Industry sewage treatment, especially the sewage with high density, big suspending granules, PH≤7, for example, the sewage of steel factory, electroplating factory. Applied to drink water treatment, it has the advantages of low cost and no pollution. It also can be used in paper making.

The cationic polyacrymide is copolymerization of different potion of cation
monomer and acrylamide. We adopt the unique technology, which enable the molecular weight top 8000 thousand when cation density is 25%.

Add a little (1-100ppm) cation polyacrylamide, it can absorb large amount of anion particles in sludge and sewage, make the suspending granules concentrate, flocculate and precipitate. The treatment affectivity is much higher than that
of anion polyacrylamide, non-ion polyacrylamide.
3- Nonionic Polyacrylamide
Property and application:
Which is formed by homopolymerization of acrylamide shows nice advantages in high purity,
good solubility, high molecular weight and available pH range of 1-8. It is mainly used for
treating sewage and Especially well used in acid sewage, It also matches well with inorganic Flocculant of poly aluminium chloride and aluminium sulfate
It is used for metallurgy and ore dressing, like Mn concentration and Cu flotation, with consumption
with the consumption of about 2ppm. Or using 15ppm for bauxite agglutination.
It is used for starching textile and chemical fiber. and static electricity resistance, or used as sizing agent directly.
In combination with bentonite, it's used as sand solidification agent which benefits hill planting,
sand binding and dust prevention.
